This is one part of the game I really enjoy, collecting glory points.
Glory points can be collected by attacking other castle lords and also by attacking foreign castles during the event. This section on glory points will touch on a lot of areas of the game that have any connection to glory points like glory tools, equipments, heroes, monuments, coat of arms etc.
The basics of Glory points.
When you begin the game you start with 0 glory points and you gain glory as and when you attack any other player. As you collect more glory points you receive better glory titles depending on your total points and each title gives you some bonus.
See the table below - You start at the bottom and work your way up. The player with the highest glory points gets the 'invincible' title.
However there is one catch, every day you lose 2% of your glory points, so you have to be an active player in order to retain higher glory titles.
For example - If your total glory points at the end of the day's play is 8000 and your glory title is 'Vice Duke', the next morning you will have lost 2% of 8000 or 160 points so now your glory points will be 7840 and you title will be down graded to 'Marquis'.
Any rewards you receive for reaching any particular glory title like coins and rubies will remain with you. The reduction in cost of troops that comes with certain titles also stay permanently but recruitment of kings guard and elite guard soldiers will only be available if you are able to maintain the title. Once you fall below on glory points you wont be able to recruit them any more.
Ways to collect glory points
1. Attacking other players - Win/Loss does not matter you receive points anyway
2. Attacking foreign castles(event) - Win/Loss does not matter you receive points anyway
3. Defending you castle or outpost against other player attacks - Win/Loss does not matter you receive points anyway
4. Defending you castle or outpost against foreign player attacks(event) - Win/Loss does not matter you receive points anyway
The bigger/closer the battle the more points you receive.
Glory Tools
1. Banner
This tool is available at the siege work shop level 2 for 125 coins. You can also get this tool by completing missions at the mercenary camp.
This mercenary camp mission is just an example and it keeps changing each time.
2. War Banner
This tool is available at the siege work shop level 2 for 19 rubies. You can also get this tool by completing missions at the mercenary camp.
3. Hero's Banner
This tool is available with the armourer and can be bought for 62 rubies when he visits you castle. You can also get this tool by completing missions at the mercenary camp.
There are few other glory tools that can be bought during any one of the system offers to buy rubies. Buying a certain amount of rubies mentioned in the offer will get you these tools as well as other prices and bonuses.
Glory Equipments and Heroes
Some equipments and heroes can give you a Glory bonus.
In the above picture the hero provides a bonus of 13% on glory points earned during any battle. This example uses a commander hero. The same is true even for castellan heroes. Equipments that give glory bonuses also work in a similar fashion.
Monuments
When any member of an alliance captures a monument then the entire alliance will get a bonus to glory points as long as the monument is under the alliance control. A monument level 1 give a 2% bonus. This increases with the level of the monument. Monument levels can be increased by simply send resources to it. At the end of each month the monument is reset and the process has to be restarted.
Monument level 1 - 2% Glory bonus
Monument level 5 - 6% Glory Bonus
Coat of Arms
This is another way to get some easy bonus to glory. As and when you collect achievement points you can unlock new coat of arms and along with them the bonuses they bring. Simply using any one of these coat of arms on you flag can get you glory bonuses. Read the symbol effects nest to the flag to see the extent of bonus.
Tips - Attacking players for glory can be really fun but be careful not to bite off more than you can chew. Don't go around making too many enemies. Decide for yourself if you will be able to handle retaliatory attacks from players. You should be able to defend on your own, alliance support should only be considered a bonus.
The best risk free way to gain glory points without making any enemies is to make full use of the Foreign Castle Event. These events appear quiet often and last for a week. So you can attack foreign castles any number of times as new ones keep appearing every time you defeat one.
The nobility contest that appears often can ask you to collect glory points in return for prizes for collecting a certain number of points and the top players can also win the nobility reward. These prizes can give you a much needed boost to resources, tools or soldiers.
Banners are a great way to multiply your glory points. More often than not only tools sent in the first two or maybe three waves are used. So any excess space can be used to send banners. Glory banners are obviously better than regular ones. Sufficient number of banners can ensure you do not need to attack too many times to collect any number of glory points. If you have played the foreign castle individual event or the Nobility event for glory and wondered how the top players manage to collect massive amounts of glory points - the answer is always "Ruby Banners". Regular non ruby players can use the gold banners but their travel speed is only 15 and so they tend to slow down the entire army.
